APPROACH TO
PERSONALITY TESTING

One member of the Hire Success Development
Team is a Medical Doctor who contributed considerably to the unique
approach in which was taken in assessing individual personalities. As a
Medical Doctor, he was trained to accurately diagnose illnesses and
medical problems based on evaluation of patient "symptoms" and other
medical tests. Often, "symptoms" are provided exclusively by the patient
and verified by other tests.
If a Medical Doctor were to
have a patient describe how 100 of the most common symptoms were affecting
them at any given time, the Doctor would normally have a very good idea
what disease or problem the patient might be suffering from. The Doctor
would ask more questions of the patient and possibly run additional tests
to verify his or her diagnosis.
An applicant is given 100
Adjectives, (descriptive words describing various aspects of their
Personality), and asked to describe the "degree" of which that word or
phrase applies to them AT WORK. They simply answer with the number
"1" if the word strongly describes them or "5" if it doesn't describe them
at all. They can also use the values 2-4 to describe some degree of
applicability in between.
In our research, studies have
proven that the 5 point (1-5) evaluation choice provides the most ACCURATE
feedback compared to 3 choices or even 7 or more choices. This is the
reason Hire Success chose the 5 point evaluation. Once the Applicant has
provided the answers to these 100 common personality characteristics, the
Hire Success system evaluates this information using some of the same
techniques and algorithms often found in Medical Diagnostic Expert
Systems.
